Should employers use social network profiles in the hiring process?

This is a thought-provoking topic that Josh Catone rose in his post Should employers use social network profiles in the hiring process? (Read Write Web, March 21, 2008). It is worth to read (comments included). As far I’m concern, I do believe it is becoming an important trend that will no stop – then people should be aware of this and take it for granted. I personally deal with privacy issue by publishing or not information. Obviously, the challenge right now lays on educating people to taking care of what to publish on the web or not.
