Conference Recruitment 2.0

3117525701_02fea208d1A month ago, Pierre Lelong  (currently Manager at Technofutur TIC) asked me to attend as a speaker at the conference “Recruitment 2.0″. Since those public events are not abundant in Belgium (and this is a shame I think), I gladly accepted. Pierre Lelong did a great job by joining together interesting recruitment and networking professionals — and to be honest, it was also a good time for me to meet up with some acquaintances like An De Jonghe, Vincent De Meerleer (Partner Xpertize.be, I use to meet up at the Beta Group) and Vincent Truyens (Sourcing & Communication Manager, ING Belgium).

Emilie Ogez made a full review of the conference here (available in French), as well as Lionel Damm here (available in French). I grab the opportunity to use Olivier Dedoncker’s introduction “Recruitment 1.0 to 2.0″ – which was pretty well loaded of information. Check it out — worth it.

Social Networks are no longer the exclusive playground of teenagers

ThinkTomorrow, organized by An De Jonghe (1), is a kind of thought-provoking conference for common businesses. For sure, lots of similar initiatives will bloom in the next few years. In her words, “Social Networks are no longer the exclusive playground of teenagers; they are a new way to do business with your customers !”

And she’s right. We are talking today about deep changes… Changes in the structure and modus operandi of corporation based on new competitive principles such as openness, peering and sharing. Social Network is a pretty new way for companies to build relationships beyond their walls, to be more transparent regarding what is happening inside the organization.

You can find the presentations & pictures of ThinkTomorrow there. I heard that more news and videos will be released soon.

(1) An de Jonghe is first of all a lovely person; occasionally, she is the CEO of Ulysses Consulting and founder of TrendQ, a consultancy firm that advises companies in how to use the power of social networking for business purposes such as recruitment or sales & marketing.
