Participate at Brussels Job Days “Europe” at the Berlaymont building, in partnership with the European Commission.

You want to find a job or get information on working or training opportunities in Europe ?

Free registration!

Job Day Europe is an information and recruitment event. Everybody is warmly welcome and the access is totally free. On line registration is recommended.

There are lots of jobs on offer (more than 50 employers present!), jobs that give the opportunity of travelling to work in another country in Europe or even further away. You may also choose to stay in Brussels to work for a multi-cultural company or within an organisation directly linked to the European institutions.
Information stands on mobility and conferences are open to everybody. Only the visitors who do bring their CV (in more copies) have access to employers for an immediate job interview. Get prepared by looking at the job offers available from September on the web site. No previous meeting arrangement can be done.

Advice : DO SOME RESEARCH TO GET THE BEST OUT OF THE DAY by looking up regularly what job vacancies and workshops are available from September on www.jobdays.eu

Advanced search engine for candidates

Companies have already a powerful search engine in order to find the right candidate.

However candidates were only able to search for companies. (See below)

Since today candidates can perform a search for job offers (included event invitations).  (See below)

The same search engine is available on the home page — and you don’t need to be registered to istockcv. (See below). However, if you want to apply, interact with the company : you will of course need to sign up/ log in.

Tx @Nicolas for this improvement :)

Feedback button : shout!

Receiving feedback is essential in order to improve our web-application. Today users can post comments at any time on any page very easily thanks to UserVoice. Unfortunately, this feature is in english only. (However, UserVoice plans to internationalize it)

How does it work?

1. If you take a look on the right side of your current page, you will see a red button “Feedback”. Just click on it.

2. An overlay (a.k.a gray shadow) appears with a box (showed as below):

3. Leave your comment (on the right side) or submit an idea (left side).

Thanks @Uservoice team for that feature ;) Its simplicity makes it awesome!

3rd party interface for student associations

As announced yesterday, we aim at istockcv to help people to find an ideal job — and especially a first ideal job upon graduation for graduates. This explains our deep desire to give a free access to our web-application to any student association (or academic association). As those associations are the first bridge that help students to cross “the chasm” and land smoothly on the labour market: our decision was pretty easy to take ;)

Meanwhile, we are shocked to be the first to offer that kind of service. We were sad to figure out that no one of those job-boards out there dared to make that move.

And the chosen color for the 3r party interface is : pink! :)   (thks kuler.adobe.com – triade mode)

Thks Florent for this good job!

David.

Official opening : September 1st

It’s been an exciting summer here at the istockcv office. First we want to thank all of our new users! You guys are awesome and we’re so thrilled to have you on board. We’ve had a ton of great feedback and questions and we want you all to know that we are listening and planning accordingly. We are working on bugs and new features just about 24/7.

Also, a big thank you at the geeks behind the scene :

  • Nicolas Jacobeus and Jean-Baptiste Escoyez, the ruby on rails developers at Belighted;
  • Florent Verschelde, the webmaster at Covert Prestige;
  • Benjamin De Cock, the designer at Deaxon

Well, as the title said, I’m stoked to announce the official launch on September 1st 2008.

Our public launch includes a new feature for academic associations/students associations. Indeed, we will offer a free access to a company account-like for any academic associations or student associations. Students (and small-sized schools) have been asking us to have an “online cv/contacts management tool” . So we are glad to offer them a free opportunity. There will be a 3rd tab (a pink one :) on the home page sooner.

Till September 1st, we will have a lot of work to do, like updating the content on public pages and stabilize some features (e.g. pdf exportation). Hold on and stay tuned ;)

If you have any feature requests or you discover any bugs please send us an email at feedback@istockcv.com

You can find more information about istockcv on our About Page.

Thanks,

David

(Nota bene : a big feature is coming out in Autumn)
